VIALL USE FOR THE SOLERIS SYSTEM

The Osmophilic Yeast Vial is based on the double vial system. The external vial contains the dye indicator. An inner vial contains the sample and growth medium. When carbon dioxide (CO2) is released due to respiration during yeast growth in the inner vial, the CO2 is absorbed by potassium hydroxide (KOH), which is present in the indicator resulting in pH change and concurrent change in dye color. The instrument measures the absorption of light through the dye indicator.
