The 3M™ Petrifilm™ Yeast and Mold Count (YM) Plate is a sample-ready culture medium system which contains nutrients supplemented with antibiotics, a cold-water-soluble gelling agent, and an indicator that facilitates yeast and mold enumeration. 3M Petrifilm YM Plates are used for the enumeration of yeast and mold in the food and beverage industries.

3M™ Petrifilm™ Yeast and Mold Count Plates identify food borne yeast and mold in your food products and in your food processing environment.
Yeasts are easily differentiated from molds on the plate:
•Yeasts are typically indicated by small, blue-green colonies with defined edges and no foci.
•Molds are indicated by large, variably-colored colonies with diffuse edges and center foci.

•Results in 3-5 days.
•Plates are sample-ready, eliminating the time-consuming, cumbersome step of preparing media/agar dishes.
•This plate has been awarded Official Methods of Analysis (OMA) #997.02.
•3M™ Petrifilm™ Plates use 75% less energy, use 79% less water, produce 75% less greenhouse gases and result in 66% less waste (by weight and volume) compared to competitive agar methods.
